One of the most significant reasons why most souls incarnate here on Earth is for the purpose of learning; the goal being to heighten the soul’s level of consciousness. The Life Lessons we are expected to fulfill are made prior to our earthly incarnation, what we label our “soul contract.”

Without these predestined life lessons, there would be no growth to our higher self and spirit. Once our soul has finished learning, eventual enlightenment is attained.

Understanding your soul contract is essential to accelerating your spiritual growth and awareness in this life. The soul contract is made up of many components, including the accumulation of life lessons learned, (or not yet learned) from all your past lives.

Before we are born, we astrologically choose the parents we will be born into, the time and place of our birth, the other souls we will interact with, and even the challenges we will face at specific times during this incarnation. This determines the nature that encompasses our experience here, during this particular lifetime.

Your personality, talents, character flaws, and exact timing of strengths and weaknesses are already laid out and put into effect at the moment of birth. Ideally, we have all predestined for ourselves to experience events, habits, and flaws that we have not mastered in our previous incarnations here on Earth.

One Universal Law, the Law of Karma and Reincarnation, can help explain this concept:

LAW OF KARMA AND REINCARNATION:

Until you have resolved your karma and fulfilled your dharma, you will continue to reincarnate into sequential lifetimes on Earth. No God ..or Lords of Karma bestow suffering during this lifetime. You and you alone decide what you need to learn each earthly incarnation. And during each life experience, you seek out other souls with similar experiences or shared histories and karmic configurations that match your soul’s needs.

Whenever you act with intention, you create karma. Disharmonious acts must be balanced here or in the next lifetime. Actions that are rooted in fear-based emotions must be released before you will be released from the wheel of reincarnation. So, you will keep returning lifetime after lifetime, until it’s all dismantled.

The Third Dimension

Earth is one of the most difficult realms for our spirit to exist. The three dimensional and egotistical aura that surrounds us corrupts our true energy of oneness and unconditional love. When we are born, we are the closest to spirit at that very moment, but we are eventually being influenced by the physical world around us. Babies seem to stare or laugh at “things,(frequencies, energies, entities), that adults cannot see.

Many children speak of auras, even shying away from someone with low vibrational energy. There are even children who remember their past lives, and many famous cases have proven that these children are not just using their imagination. It is no coincidence that these same children, once they reach the age of 5 or so, suddenly cannot remember ever telling the stories, never mind remember the details they once gave.

Soul Contracts

Our soul contract provides us with lessons to experience such things as gratitude, acceptance, unconditional love, or selflessness because our higher self knows these events will help its growth. Unfortunately, if we do not learn these lessons we created for ourselves, we start the wheel of Karma, now having to learn even more in the next lifetime.

One amazing Universal Law, the Law of Wisdom, explains this quite beautifully:

LAW OF WISDOM:

Wisdom erases karma. If you have the wisdom to learn lessons through love, you will mitigate your suffering. Unfortunately, as humans, we learn fastest through pain, having to directly experience the consequences of our actions. When you move toward a predestined test, if you have the wisdom to proceed with harmony, you will also mitigate the trauma of that pending event in the physical realm, as well.

This serves as a reminder that we all predestined this life, and we’ve chosen a primary life lesson.
But, we can also choose several secondary life lessons.

The Primary Life Lesson

For example, the Primary Lesson we pursue could be something like a Ph.D. We naturally attract, choose, and create situations that will help us learn that primary life lesson. This is not usually done consciously, however your life will inevitably end up leading you to the event you fated for yourself.

The duration of a Primary Life lesson can even take between two to three lifetimes to complete. When that primary life lesson is complete, the secondary life lessons will replace the primary lesson.

Of course, these lessons can be both pleasant and difficult, but nonetheless all learning experiences. Inherent with every life lesson is its opposite, or duality. For example, if there is a lesson of moderation present, we will surely have many learning experiences in this life that revolve around excess and indulgence.

The most common Life Lessons I have seen during my readings with clients are Self-love, Self-worth, Self-determination, persistence, patience, and spiritual development.

A Lesson of Self-Love

Let’s say a person is destined to learn a life lesson on Self-Love. This person will be learning to direct the energies of love towards the self. They may have experienced what happens in this life when love is directed towards everyone…except themselves.

Also they may become depleted, possibly learning about self-sacrifice and the importance of not sacrificing oneself for others. They may learn the vicious side effects of jealousy, envy, and self-pity and be forced to rise above the ego and fear based feelings to fully appreciate the epic nature of the spirit they have had all along.

Lessons vary from person to person and within specific life areas. Primary and secondary lessons can also be learned together, although usually the Secondary Life Lessons are divulged at a slower rate.

Becoming Aware

Knowing what your Life Lessons are will provide you higher insight and intuitive awareness. This higher consciousness will allow you to recognize what your soul hopes you will learn through any given situation or circumstance while assisting you on your life path. Your ego will be pushed aside, creating acceptance and willingness in every roadblock you face, because you realize that it is a test that is meant to be humbly passed.
