I am writing this for those of you who are at the beginning level regarding chakras. For those who are interested in the topic and would like to know better what are chakras. There purpose and how they play an important role in our overall health. As you maybe already know.
There are seven main chakras in our body.
Our spiritual and physical health depends on whether chakras are balanced or not. The word “chakra” in Sanskrit means vortex. Chakras are centers of energy and consciousness in the human organism which metabolize energy.
Now, let’s see which chakras exist in our body, what their purpose is, and what problems can arise if they are not balanced.
The 7 Chakra System
Muladhara Chakra – Root / Base Chakra
Muladhara chakra is known as the root chakra or the first chakra and presents the basis of the entire energy system of the chakras. The root chakra takes over and processes energy from the earth and nature. It is situated in the area of the coccyx, between the perineum and anus. The red color showing the Muladhara chakra represents strong life energy, strength, and passion. An unbalanced first chakra can be indicated by fears, anxiousness, lack of self-confidence, self-worth. An inability to be in the present moment, focusing in the past or in the future. Physical elements of this can present as lower back problems, depression, impotence, poor circulation, and rectal issues. Weight issues, addictive behaviors, and conditions involving the hips groin, legs, and feet.
Svadhisthana Chakra – Sacral
The sacral chakra is the nerve center of life and sexual joy. It is located in the area of the sacrum, above the sexual organs and her color is orange. It affects the gonads – testicles, and ovaries. The unbalanced second chakra can present as feelings of guilt and shame, low self-esteem, Intimacy issues, and expressing your emotions and feelings. Physical elements can present in the form of menstrual and prostate diseases, impotence, frigidity, kidney, or bladder disorders. Urinary tract infections, blood, and lymphatic diseases.
Manipura Chakra – Solar Plexus
Manipura chakra or umbilical cord is the main battery of energy from which the life energy of prana or chi spreads throughout the body. It is located above the navel, in the area of the abdomen. It is associated with the pancreas so it secretes numerous enzymes for digestion and insulin. The Manipura is shown in yellow and if unbalanced it can be an indication of insomnia, self-pity, envy, the obsessiveness of power. It can present physical elements of gastrointestinal disorders, liver disease, digestive problems, nervous system disorders, diabetes, obesity, and arthritis.
Anahata Chakra – Heart
Anahata or heart chakra is green and forms the center, and connects the lower three chakras that are related to the instincts, with the upper three chakras of human consciousness. It is located at the height of the heart, in the middle of the chest. An unbalanced heart can be an indication of withholding love, critical, judgemental, lack of empathy, and co-dependency issues. The fourth chakra has a significant role in the development of immunity, and the weakening of energy in the fourth chakra can manifest itself through allergies, asthma, and the tendency to infectious diseases or cancer.
Vishuddha Chakra – Throat
Vishuddha or the throat chakra is light blue and represents the center of sound and speech in the human body. It is located in the area of the larynx. Vishuddha stimulates the change of substance and the level of energy and affects the nervous system. The unbalanced fifth chakra indicates shyness, fear of expressing one’s own opinion, speech problems, and stuttering. Physical elements can present as a sore throat, inflammation of the tonsils, teeth, and dental diseases.
Aina Chakra – 3rd Eye
Aina means knowledge, cognition, and provides attention and awareness. Frequent names are also the sixth chakra, forehead chakra, and the third eye. It is located between the brows, at the center of the forehead, above the root of the nose. It controls the entire endocrine gland system and affects the immune and nervous system as well as on the psyche. The sixth chakra is the most important for maintaining general health. Aina is dark blue, indigo blue colors. An unbalance 3rd Eye chakra can be indicated by obsessions, poor memory, irrational fears, lack of discernment, and imagination. Physical elements can present as headaches, allergies, vertigo, anxiety disorders, and ear/nose and throat disorders.
Sahasrara Chakra – Crown
The Sahasrara chakra or crown chakra is white, golden, and purple, and it is located at the top of the skull. An unbalanced crown chakra can present as having a sensitivity to light, lack of confusion and inspiration, disassociation to the physical body, and learning difficulties A disrupted seventh chakra can cause insomnia, depression, chronic illnesses, and life-threatening illnesses.
